Plans, supervises, and assigns workers to do daily chores such as feeding and milking, breeding and caring for cows, cleaning cattle, barns, equipment, and performs lay-veterinary duties. Inspects and maintains the cleanliness of barns and milking parlor and informs workers of actions required to ensure compliance with established standards Studies feeds and milk production records to determine the required feed formula for maximum milk yield and notifies workers of diet changes Develops schedules for activities, such as breeding, vaccinating, dehorning of cows, and sale of calves by studying health records Observes and artificially inseminates cows during estrus to produce desired offspring Examines cows for signs of injuries, illnesses, and calving, treats injuries and illnesses, delivers calves, and engages veterinarian to care for serious illnesses and injuries Ensure all administrative duties are met in a timely manner (documentations, reports, etc.) Performs other duties as assigned
