The IMPORT EXPORT OFFICER is in-charge of monitoring importation and exportation shipments. He/She coordinates schedule of arrival dates of imported shipments to the supplier; applies for marine insurance and import permit; and submits shipping documents to the brokers and plant. He/She assigns the broker who will release the shipment, monitors the delivery to the plant, requests for fund allocation of cash advances and duties/taxes for imported shipments to be released in the Bureau of Customs. Also communicates with imported suppliers regarding price contracts, forecast volume, shipment status and other importation concerns. For export shipment, he/she forwards the export orders to responsible department to check the availability of materials, preferred shipping schedule and submits shipping documents to the customer. Submits monthly export sales report (dollar and pesos) to concerned departments. The ImpEx Officer is also responsible for bonded warehousing shipment; liquidation of duties and taxes under PhilExport; and retrieval of undated checks for bonded shipments. He/She also assists the Import/Export Manager in planning and implementing Import / Export strategy and activities consistent with overall business plans and requirement of operating units, as well as assist the Import/Export Manager in implementing and monitoring effectiveness of regulatory standards and policies that impact issues related to the documentary requirements for Customs accreditation as importer, transportation and storage rules/laws.
